Fifth Annual Holiday Homes Tour
November 26, 2011
Pendleton Heights is proud to announce its Fifth Annual Holiday Homes Tour, once again featuring six homes of the Victorian era decorated for the holidays. Pendleton Heights, Kansas City’s first suburb, is a historically-designated district and neighborhood just east of the Downtown River Market Area. Located on the western edge of the Northeast District, Pendleton Heights still retains the vast majority of its original homes, constructed in the late 1880s and 1890s.
The homes selected to be in the 2011 tour range in design from Queen Anne to a design that is best described as “loft-inspired”. The interiors of these fine homes, all in various stages of completion, also cover a broad range - from darker, more original-feeling Victorian interiors complete with original fireplaces, doors and wood trim to those that have been gutted and rebuilt from the inside out, sporting a more modern appeal.
All of these homes are within just a few doors of each other. Parking and security are provided. Start your holiday season off with a visit to Kansas City’s historic past - in Pendleton Heights. From 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26th, these feature homes will have their first floors open for advance ticket prices through November 15th of $10; tickets bought or ordered after November 15th are $12 each. Commemorative posters for the price of $10 will also be for sale at the will-call desk. All proceeds to toward the Pendleton Heights Neighborhood Association, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
